The article critically examines the Netflix documentary mini-series dedicated to the life and work of Andy Warhol. Considering the existing sources and knowledge about the American artist, the view offered by the director of the series, Andrew Rossi, is analyzed with help of archival materials and statements of Warhol’s contemporaries. Is a biographical approach necessary in observing the entirety of Warhol’s oeuvre and does it distort the image the artist created by himself during his lifetime?
