Abstract

The text discusses the reception of the exhibition of the Association of Artists Zemlja, which was held in 1935 in the Art Pavilion in Belgrade, through the analysis of a critical review of this event written by Rastko Petrović. In the broader context of Rastko Petrović’s complex critical activity and his importance for the development of art criticism as a discipline within the Yugoslav art space, his account on this exhibition in Belgrade is probably the most comprehensive and challenging critical text published about the Association of Artists Zemlja during its active existence.
